pump size and type for barn cistern to house

Currently pumping 135' uphill from cistern to houses and barns thru 1100+' of 2" pipe from cisturn/hand dug well (12gpm). Want to ease pressure (use) on 1/2h subm pump (80-110lb on/off) and fill plastic (1500 g) cistern in barn at 5#of pressure, same elevation as houses. Current set up only get minimal 30#pressure at houses/barns. want to get 50# from new cistern to all spigots. what sort of pump/tank arrangement reccommended at the barn cistern to give me that constant pressure.
 
Let me see if I understand this. You have a hand dug well that is 135' lower than the house/s. You want a submersible (1/2hp) to give 50 lbs at house/s. You didn't mention how many gallons per minute you wanted that pressure at, so I'll estimate 7 gpm. A 5 gpm 1/2hp sub will give you 5 gpm at that head. That's the best I can do with 1/2hp.

You have outlined my current water supply/pressure/lift/distance. I hope to relieve the work (80-110psi) of the 1/2h in the well by pumping at a much lower on-off to a 1500g cistern in the barn at the same elevation as the houses and barns. I then want to pump from that cistern to the barns and houses and want to know what type/brand of pump set-up will give me demand pressure to the hse/barns at 50+psi. gpm needed? I don't know, 14?. Max water use would be 6-7 people, some seasonal garden irrigation. very minimal yr rnd animal use.
 
I missed a small fact; currently from the well we get maybe 35-40psi. The plan is to boost psi to houses and barns to at least 50 psi, without having to increase subm pump size or on/off pressures, by pumping from the 1500g cistern in the barn. I don't know what brand/type of pump or to accomplish this feat. Has that clarified my question? Thanks for your input and prompt reply.
 
If I understand you correctly, you can put a 1/2hp 10 gpm submersible in the cistern at the house/barn and have all the pressure you want. Even at 14 gpm you would have 60 psi. Submersible Pumps

I don't currently get 60 psi at house barns with exisiting pumping (only get) 30-40 psi pressure at house/barns from hand dug well/cistern w/ 1/2h subm pump (80-110 psi on/off). It is 1100' away, pushing 135' up hill. I want to use this subm at a much lower on/off pressure to "drip" fill the 1500 gal cistern at the barn.

Then pump from the plastic 1500g cistern, which is level w/ existing buildings.

I want to find out what type pump-float system may best fit my need on the 1500 gal cistern at the barn and give on-demand pressure of 60 psi to all the buildings.
 
The same Submersible Pump you have now. 1/2hp 10 gallon per minute. It will give you much better than 10 gpm at great pressure. You can see the curve from the link above.

I also have float switches that will protect the pump in the event of a dry tank and to turn off a valve when the tank is full. Then you add a Cycle Stop Valve and your good to go.
