Sumersible wire? Help

I have about 100 feet of ufb(underground grey wire and thick) sitting around, and wanted to know if it would work for a submersible pump 40' to the bottom of well. I know this is not actually the right stuff, but will it work for any length of time?? Thanks

I would not use it under the water, even for a short time.
Submersible pump cable is designed for under water.
