Need help with basement plumbing

Hi, I want to put a washing machine in my basement. The main sewer pipe comes out of the wall about 2 feet above the basement floor. From there it turns 90 degrees upward to about floor joist level, and turns 90 degrees again and connects to the main sewer drains from the 2 floors above. I want to locate the washing machine within a few feet of where the main comes through the basement wall. If I tap into it there will I have a basement full of poo every time someone upstairs flushes the toilet? I have seen countless washing machines in basements so I know it can be done. Any tips on how to proceed?

Install a sump & pump and then connect to your building drain.
It may be a good idea to have a plumber do this work.
