recommended low profile toilet?

Hi - just wondering which low profile toilet you would recommend - we're remodeling and will be placing a toilet under an existing window (window sill is about 26 1/2" from floor) - I would prefer to get a toilet that sits below the window sill or as close to it as possible. I'm hoping to spend less than $300 on this, if possible! Also, I wanted to say thanks for your great site - it has been very helpful as I plan our remodel.

The closest toilet to your request that I would recommend is the Toto Ultra Max. It stands 27-1/8" from the floor to top of tank. The cost is higher than you are hoping for, $410 and up and that was before the recent price increase. You will be hard pressed to find a quality toilet for $300. Oh yes, Big Box stores sell toilets for less than that, but they are not very good quality.

I got a Eco Ultramax and got a rebate from my water company. Check w/ your water company to see if they are offering rebates on HETs (High Efficiency Toilet).

On the plus side, the Toto Ultra Max is a premier toilet. It isn't as big a seller as the Toto Drake, but the Drake is less expensive. If the window is a bit low, redo the window and stay with the Ultra Max
