Ok, Here goes. I screwed up and tried to tackle this job myself. My well is about 250 ft deep and I got the pump up about halfway and hit an obstruction. One that is my fault. A chain broke as we were pulling it up and it went down the hole . I am sure it is caught on the lip of the casing where the casing sections come together. I have an electrician wire fisher and have been trying to get a hold of it with no luck. Am I screwed? I had a professional stop by and he thinks I will need to drill a new well to the tune of 15K. Can I use a different type of pump, attach it to the pitless adapter and stick the hose down the old pipe and push the old pump back down into the water? I am grasping at anything. I am an idiot.

If it's a 4" casing and a 4" pump there's not much room for anything else. A down hole camera would be your best bet right now.

The chain shouldn't be that hard to fish out if you don't have everything jammed to the point that nothing will move.

Cacher, Thanks for the reply, I am thinking of renting a camera and tossing it down there to see whats up. I am also in the land of cheese, towards the MN border.
