Dishwasher wye

Added a dishwasher and no disposal.
Is it OK to put the dishwasher wye between the two sink drains so in a horizontal position instead of normal vertical.
Used direct connect kit to sink but had a problem with drian in wall was too high

You're talking about one of these:

right

I have not seen them used horizontally and would advise against not using them vertically.

There is no real reason it cannot be horizontal, other than common usage.

I can see horizontal before the p-trap, but defiantly not after.
