Bit _ _ won't give me access to my plumbing books during the divorce process - and I'm in the middle of a new bathroom project in a fix n flip..... I'm half-decent at plumbing stuff - but once in a while - make a slight code error. rather than fix it later - I'd just as soon start it out right...

Question... got a vertical stack (aren't they all) - 3" -- adding a new bathroom, tub/sink/toilet, --- I've got a sanitary "T" in the main to run to the new system - but now that I'm looking at it - would have preferred to have put in a "y" - for the sake of drainage/code/whatever. As long as the slope of my new drain system is 1/4 - 1' - is this a problem? I'm planning sanitary elbows rather than sweeps also - along with proper cleanouts at the elbows as necessary.

I know this is vague - but think the plumbers of the world will know what I'm trying to get across...

You need to hit a T right after the trap then all the rest are Ys

I was afraid you were going to say that....

Gotta cut out the "T" and splice in a "Y"... Damn!!.... But thanks... rather do it right the first or second time - but before the inspector shows up...

I hope flips work where you are now, because out here, they have all turned to flops!

I hear ya... but in San Diego - those flippers get what they deserve... I still live in an area where I can pick up a home with good "bones" for $65K --- in a $135K neighborhood... and sales are slow - but continuing....
