I am buying a different home that the pipes ruptured in and am wondering what is best to use to re-plum. I have been hearing alot about the PEX tubing but I know that copper is a good bet too, but the price is of that tarished gold is horrible. Just wondering what the different options are and which one is better.

why not get prices on both....
I would like to see the difference myself, now that copper has gone down somewhat..
the Wirsbo aquapex is the only pex that I would recommend..that is the only one that I will use...
STAY AWAY from any pexes sold at the hardware stores, ZURN KITECH and others....all are in big trouble..

Kitec is gone for obvious reasons...
We'll yesterday I made the plunge and bought a PEX jaw for my ProPress and an assortment of fittings. I have a customer who insisted that he wanted PEX over type L copper ...
Use a professional grade of pex fittings if you go this route. I was told that the root cause for the Zurn failures were the high zinc content in the brass (30%) that aggresive water will eat until the fitting fails. The fittings made by Viega are bronze (less than .5% zinc) and practically have zero zinc and hence no failures reported.
Using a ProPress to crimp PEX may be overkill, given the size and weight of the tool.
