Ok, I'm about half way installing the TOTO Aquia III but am having some problems.

I drilled, on a tile floor, with a 5/16" ceramic bit all the way through for the plastic anchors. When I tried to put in the plastic anchors, I taped them with a hammer and got about 3/4ths down. I hit one of the anchors more and it got smothered/crumpled. The anchor won't go further down, I think, because towards the top there are these little things that stick out and get caught by on the floor.

The anchor goes down fine until this point. Granted it is a VERY tight fit til the top, but once I get to the top, there's no hope.

What should I do? Drill a bigger hole :( , get new anchors that fit better from Home Depot, or something else?

Any help greatly appreciated!

I had some anchors that fit the hole better...depending on the type of drill bit you used, enlarging the hole could be a problem. Are you sure your hole is deep enough to fit the length of the insert? If the hole isn't deep enough, neither the insert nor the screw will fit. If you get most of it in, sometimes I'll just take a chisel and cut it off flush with the floor.

I had the same problem when I installed my Aquas lll last week. The first toilet, I just cut the anchors off flush with a razor blade. The screws tightened up super good, so no worry. The second install, I followed the 5/16 hole with a 3/8 bit just deep enough to take care of the top 1/2" of anchor.
Quality product, but that part really sucks. Another neccessary tip I read somewhere on this site, pre-drill the anchors if you ever expect to drive the screws in...
I love the finished product, more and more every day... After a few days of using as designed, I startd expermenting with only using the .8 gpf button, and haven't used the big button since. The .8 gph has handled everything without a problem.
