I am trying to find out if it is ok to have a 90 deg. elbow at 45 deg to vertical? Or is it better to go straight down then use a 45 deg. elbow to meet the wye (like the right hand connection)?
I am under the 2006 National Standard Plumbing Code. Photo attached.
Thanks

Very nice looking work.
That's how I like to do mine.

The reason the one on the right uses an extra fitting, is the position within the joist. If the joist is not so close, they both could have used less fittings.

Kudo's to your plumber.

connecton

There are at least 4 different ways that connection could be made, and the only difference between them is how much space they would take. Sometimes the most direct, and possibly desirable, way would be too intrusive into the space around it.
