rough in??

I am Planning to install two new toilets, but all this talk about 10,12 and 14 inch rough in. what are we talking about. My home is about 15 years old and I am on a septic tank system.

The measurement from the center of the waste pipe to the wall, but not the baseboard since the furthest back part is the tank which would be above that.
