I am replacing an older toilet (1979). When measuring for the rough-in, do I go from the wall to the center of the drain pipe, or to the edge of the drain that is closest to the wall?

Rough-in is measured from the finished wall, not including a mop board, to the center of the flange. You can also measure to the flange bolts since they are centered on the flange.
