I have a kenmore demand recharge systems. I have been watching its rechagring. Most times during the day sometime it will say recharge tonite. But sometimes I check it before bed it says nothing then the next morning it has recharged I can tell by the salt usage and sometimes I will wake up before it is done. So at like 10:00 it says nothing we go to bed no softned water is used then it recharges is this normal? It only does this sometimes most time it says recharge tonight sometime during the day. I was wondering if at recharge time if it is close does it just decide to recharge?

Anyone who knows the process I would apreciate there insight.

Check to see if your model has variable reserve, that's what usually causes this. And if so it's working as designed.

I checked but did not say anything only this "Enhanced electronic demand initiated regeneration" I dont think it is malfunctioning do you? Seems ok other than that. it could be that I just did not see it say recharge tonite but not sure. Could it be a malfunction of another kind?

Thanks gary.

If when you guys go to bed you use any water before midnight, the Regen Tonight could show up on the display and you wouldn't have seen it. Then the regen starts at 2:00 AM.

Yes any time water is running the turbine wheell spins to count down the gallons used.

Yes it is possible that it happens like when we wash and flush before bed.
I guess I jus never heard the wheel spin before.
