I have a hydronic system. all of my radiators heat up fine except for one. I have attempted to bleed the radiator to no avail. The pipe on its way to the radiator heats up until the valve, but on the radiator side of the valve its cold. I have checked to make sure the valve is open. Any other ideas?

What happens when you bled the radiator? If you get nothing than perhaps the bleeder itself is plugged.

If you get water out of the valve then the radiator should heat up if hot water is going through it. Are you sure the water is circulating and going throught the return line also?

I'm quite sure that water is not circulating since the radiator doesn't heat up. It could be that when I bleed it it fills through the return. My thought is that there is something wrong with the valve and that it is either stuck closed or blocked. I'm hoping someone else can either confirm that, or tell me that there is something else I should try. To replace the valve would require draining the entire system. I'm not in the mood to drain it during the winter.

We had a pipe blow over the weekend. Once I was at it, I drained and opened the radiator. I'm not sure what was wrong with it, but now that I put it back together it works fine. It is likely that there was some air trapped very close (or in) the valve. I'm not sure why bleeding it didn't help.
