Nice open air conductors, no derating problems anyway

The dimmer seems to be anchored to wood.
Is the box filled with drywall compound?
Is there a box under there somewhere?
Very creative.

What's the problem? You wanted ROMEX®, maybe?

That's funny... A somewhat fancy light fixture and a quite tacky looking wiring job!

Usually the people who want the fancy stuff are very picky about wires being hidden, walls patched perfectly, etc.

I hope nobody mistakens it for a pull chain switch.

Somebody has already said it, but that really is a classy chandelier.

Solid brass, probably Virginia and possibly Williamsburg.

Sell the light to fix the switch.

That looks like a light fixture I purchased in 1985.

It's been changed out since.

You sure find the odd homes in your inspections.
I can't imaging wiring in my house like that, what with Grandkids coming over and all.

oh come on terry....you dont look old enough to have "GrandKids". Anyway it always still amazes me when I see things homeowners will do.

I will have to break out my camera here in Richmond,VA and let you all see some of the things I see......
