All,
Or anybody willing.
I am exploring an idea of using Copper Roof Flashing as a drain pan under a refridgerator. I have had issues with a leaky valve on a GE profile. I have great hardwood floors (or at least they were great untill it leaked and they are all buckled now, but drying and flattening slowly).
My idea is to use copper flashing and brass fittings to fashion a drain pan under the problem area and catching the dripping water, WHEN ( not if ) it happens again, and diverting it to a basement sink below instead of all over the kitchen floor. Is the copper in copper flashing as solderable as the type used in pipes? I am thining I can form sides and solder the corners, and solder a brass drain fitting in the center, and just run clear vinyl tubing to a basement sink, much like a gravity fed condensate drain. any ideas? what kind of solder, 50/50?
Thanks
