Tub drain

The old timers that did the tub and lav in my house used copper pipe, and all fittings were cast brass on the drain. I see that the same fittings are available in wrot copper. What would be the decision list as to which material to use? Other than brass is 4-5 x more expensive.

You want to do what? Copper is antibacterial.Never clogs.
Rip it ALL out,its bad!

You have stated the reason for using copper. COST. Other than that there is little reason to prefer one over the other. Some fittings only come in cast, however.
