Have a Gerber gravity fed 21-702. It slow drains/clogs semi-regularly. Okay, these things happen. Plunge, and all is well.

But then....

Later in the day, with no other solids going down the toilet, the bowl fills/slow drains with no siphon being formed.

I have used a KleerDrain unit to fire air down the line and that also provides temporary relief. Flushes fine, then later on the bowl will fill upon flushing and slow drain yet again.

Grrrrrrr!

Do I just replace the darn thing with something like a Gerber Ultra-flush or it there a simpler explanation and/or fix.

TIA!

I tried the Gerber 21-712, the elongated bowl version of that gravity bowl in my home for two weeks. One day it flooded the bathroom floor,
Yeah, I pulled it out that day.
It plugged very easily. Two weeks is all I could take.
I prefer something like a Toto Drake over the Gerber Ultraflush
Gerber also makes an Avalanche which would be better than what you have.

but I've augered, plunged and shot air down and it drains...

... then doesn't drain.

is it the design, a seal problem or something further downstream?

Thanks,

I would guess that there is something in the trapway like a pen or toothbrush.

If you can't flush a wadded up ball of paper towels down, there is something there.

But let me say again, the 21-702 is one of the worst.

"one of the worst"

No need to do any further troubleshooting - we'll definitely replace it then.

Thanks so much!
