First floor toilet. On now many occasions it has overflowed without anyone being in that area of the house we have been using those alternative sand bags for that inconvenience http://stormtec.net/and we wanted that to stop.
The water is clear and has no odor. It isn't clogged and does not run regularly. However, when we find the toilet overflowed it does appear to be running. What could this be?

Without knowing where it is overflowing, we cannot help you.

If the tank is overflowing, there somehow is a clog in the overflow tube or more likely the toilet bowl itself. If the bowl is overflowing, there is a clog in the drain pipe.

Funny this same question exists on many forums...
Until we know in what manner it is overflowing there is no answer...
