Hello,

I have a Kohler kitchen faucet, probably circa 1988, which has a tendency to leak from the base of the handles when I turn on the water.

According to most sites I've read, the repairs are simple enough - but I can't seem to remove the handles.

I shut off the water to both handles under the sink, remove the screw from both handles and then no matter what I try, the handles will not come off. It was my impression they should simply lift right off. Is it possible that my faucet is just one piece? Or am I missing something here?

Here is an image of my faucet..

Thanks,

Jason

Yes, they should just lift off once the screw is removed.
However the leaking has probably corroded the handles onto the stem.
Try some PB Blaster down through the screw hole.
A handle puller may help.
