A flowerbed backs up to my living room wall adjacent to the entryway.
Sprinkler went off and flooded the entryway. It did not come through the
door but under moulding that is adjacent to the entryway. My son thinks
I might have a slab leak. What method is used to detect a slab leak. Maybe
someone might give me an idea what the problem might be.
Thanks!

You started off by answering your own question. You flooded the entry way. Water can find a way under wall plates, door sills, etc., and also enter through the weep screed on stucco walls. I think you went out in left field assuming a slab leak in the face of an obvious situation.

Tell us it the water has persisted, or if you have any other symptoms which might point to a slab leak.

leak

Turn off all the faucets in the house and then check to see if the meter flow indicator is turning. If not, you do not have a slab leak. If it is turning you have a leak of some kind, not necessarily a slab leak.

This only happens when the sprinkler is on. So I don't think it would show on the water meter. I do have stucco walls. Could it be penetrating the slab from the flower bed sprinkler? I really appreciate the two replies, who should
I call locally to detict the problem, a plumber, a slab specialist or a sprinkler
company? Thanks again for your replies. This is a great forum!! Especially for a 78 year old widow!!

First, a good gardener or handyman could take a quick look at that flower bed. It there are sprinklers in there which are spraying the house, have those capped off. You can deal later with watering the flowers.

By the way, in this flower bed, is there any soil up against the wall of the house?? That is a no-no and must be fixed.

leak

There are NO irrigation pipes under the slab, so if it only leaks when watering the leak is exterior to the house. Therefore, either a plumber or a landscaper should be able to determine IF there is a leak, and if so how to fix it.
