Pardon the newbiness, but I was looking at the Delta MultiChoice valve and noticed there are at least 2 versions, one with and one without screw stops.

My newbie question is.......what are the screw stops used for? From the pictures it almost looked like they screw into the incoming water to lower the amount of water getting thru, but thats just a wild guess.

Any explanation would be appreciated!

Especially useful in hotels, and apartments, so you can service the shower without turning off the whole building. For a single house....handy but not mandatory.

Concensus seems to be that by the time you need them, they may no longer work. That being said, I opted for them. Time will tell if it was worth the slight increase in price.

stops

Unless the faucet repairer knows they are there, and/or wants to mess with them, the faucet will be repaired without removing that plate so they will not be used. I would not bother using them unless there were some overriding reason to do so. I would normally have the faucet fixed in less time than it would take to remove and replace the plate.
