I have read through a number of posts and can find exactly what
i'm looking for.
Problem: Two story home, low water pressure upstairs.
other info: My well and pressure tank are 150Ft away from my house. I have an oversize tank with 70lbs pressure on it.
Question: would a second smaller tank inside the house offer better pressure upstairs? Closer?
Thank you, Jon

Pressure drop is a function of rate of flow and the size of the pipe. If the pressure is OK on the first floor and not OK on the second floor you have a problem probably not solved by another pressure tank.

You may have mineral buildup in the pipes. Was it ever OK or is this a new system? The only thing another tank would do is give some water pressure boost if there was a clogged pipe. It would fill slowly and reach the same pressure as downstairs. But when you used water the pressure would begin to drop as you remove water from the tank and it can't refill quickly enough. The draw down number for you tank is the max amount of water you could get and as it was used the pressure would go to what you have now. Probably not enough for a shower.

pressure

If the low pressure is caused by the length of the pipe, then a second storage tank AT THE BUILDING would help. The second floor is only causing about a 5psi pressure drop, which should not be noticable at 70 psi.

Another pressure tank of any size isn't going to increase pressure, and can/should cause more pressure lose.

What switch settings are you running?

With no water in it, what air pressure do you have in the pressure tank?

What size and type pipe do you have from the pressure tank to the house?
