I have a fiat shower pan about 35 years old. It started leaking at the drain seal. I was told the drain seal was no longer available. Any suggestions on a fix for this problem, other than a new install?

Never heard of it, but a 35 year old shower....it is unlikely there is anything there worth trying to repair.

fiat shower pans..plastic or concrete???

that is a moulded stone--plastic pan with a
compressed SS falnge inserted into the plastic???

this is not a concrete terraza base, correct??/

are you sure it is the actual metal flange that is leaking
and not the pvc pipe??

if that is the case you are in trouble....

their is probably no way to get the old shower insert
out....without hacking up the shower base in the process...

where or how is this leaking anyway???
has the flange itself rust out??

Now, if you can gain access from underneath,
you could probably go out and buy a couple tubes of 100% silicone
and put a good patch on the leak...

get the area totally 100% dry first and then plaster on the silicone

it would probably last 15 years

drain

First you have to tell us what kind of drain it is. Cast with the base or a separate one installed afterwards. Metal or plastic drain. Where is it leaking, around the pipe or around the drain?
