Look at your own post...over to the right....you have buttons to "edit" or "quote". Click on quote opens up the reply window and quotes that post in the reply.

highlight the text. Press ALT, then E, then C. To insert it in the new area, press ALT, then E, then P. And the selected text will be available for pasting until you either copy new text, or shut down the computer.

Highlight the text you want to paste into your own post and press ctrl-c together.
Move to the reply and paste it in with ctrl-v.
Highlight the quoted text in its entirety with ctrl-a.
Click on the cartoon-quote symbol over the text area and the quote brackets will be applied. Then begin posting beneath the quote marks.

If you want to quote within your post, then just paste the quoted text (ctrl-v) and drag your mouse to highlight and click on the cartoon-quote symbol and it will quote only the highlighted text.

Alternatively, you can manually type the quote and unquote tags with the square brackets around the text you want to quote. The unquote has the / in front of the word 'quote'. For tags to work, there must be a tag at the beginning and a tag with a slash at the end of each quote.
