Thinking of installing dual-flush toilets in 2-story rental unit. Noise is really an issue, especially relative to one particular unit, which can hear three, yes 3 toilets, whenever they flush upstairs (2 toilets). or adjacent (other one).

When your toilet description is "quiet", is this compared to what? I guess for me the easiest comparison to understand would be comparing them to the old-style water-wasting gravity flush toilets that I am familiar with. Would my poor renter be happier hearing three "quiet" dual-flush toilets than what she hears now???

And my other question is, which of the dual-flush toilets is the quietest, and which would hold up better under renter (rough) usage?

My main motivation for changing toilets is the new limitations on water use and higher charges for exceeding the house's "allotment" based on last 3 yrs usage, reduced by 15%.

Thanks for a great forum! Before I get the new toilets installed I will definitely go thru all the threads and copy out info on what not and what to do. Appreciate all of you sharing. :D

One of my customers went with a Toto Aquia dual flush in the upstairs.
She said it was noticably quieter downstairs than with the previous toilet.
The Aquia has been holding up well.
