have water everywhere in the house, but no water to kitchen sink. Wife was using it the other day...and it just quit....however we have water to the dishwasher which is right beside it...and have water everywhere else...with no loss of pressure. Any suggestions??

Have you got water to the side sprayer?

Unscrew the aerator of the end of the spout. Flush out the faucet, and clean or, replace the aerator.

side sprayer has been broken ever since we moved here....never used it in other places...so didnt see any reason to fix it. YOu turn the knobs on the sink on...and its as if you were in a store that had no water supply hooked to it. No air or drips...nothing....but the dishwasher works fine.

Not sure what your refering to when you say Aerator

Well then it's time to chase the water back to the source and see where it is.
You might try turning off then disconnecting the supply lines under the sink and see if the water is there. That will tell you if just the faucet is the problem. What kind of pipes do you have?

im not even sure..looks like copper up by the sink itself..but I would guess galv through the rest...its a pretty old house

Galv. can be a problem.
If it is connected directly to copper even more likely.
Your mission is to find where the water stops.

well I believe there all copper pipes...which is good...I do know that the HOT water that goes to the Dishwasher is the same pipe that goes to the smaller metal pipe that goes to the sink...and the Dishwater is getting water...so does it sound like it might be in the smaller hose/pipe that goes to the sink?

However the cold isnt getting there either....errrr...I hate plumbing

faucet

Just because the side sprayer hasn't worked for years does not mean it cannot be the problem. The switchover device is probably still in the faucet and if it decided to send water to the spray unit, even if it is not there, you will not get water to the sink until it changes back, and it may decide never to change back until you remove it.

So what do I need to do to remove it?

Until one knows the brand, your question is sort of like asking how do you change the water pump on a car. The answer is much different on a Chevy than it is on a Honda, and differs considerably even from model to model.

Take a picture and someone may be able to give more specific help.

Will these help?
