I bought myself an American Standard Cadet 3 round-bowl a couple weeks ago and while I was installing it I noticed an imperfection. It's hard to describe and I can't really take a pic because the tank is on now.

Its the area directly under the gasket between the tank and bowl, where the water flows when the flapper raises up. It looked like the "seem" at the back/right of this area wasn't fully joined, like there was a crack there. Is it possible for water to leak out of there on to the floor under/inside the toilet when it flushes? Or would it go into the bowl?

Just something I've started to wonder about. I dont really want to remove the toilet just to satisfy my paranoia.

If you were a regular reader of this forum, you would not have to ask your question. To be blunt, American Standard is a crap brand. Plumbers that frequent this forum will not supply this brand because of the high number of quality issues. You buy it, they'll install it. It goes bad, you pay them again to fix it. They have reported many cases of having picked up an AS product, go to the job site only to discover they had a unsatisfactory unit. So, they would have to go back to the store, get another unit. The alternative to that would be to open every box and inspect it for quality. Either way, it was a waste of their time. Sad to tell you this, but that's the way it is. Going cheapo on a toilet is very poor economy.
