Hello,

I searched, but could not find the answer to this question. We have an old house that has a floor drain we want to convert to a sink drain. How do we do that? There is a floor bowl, and an opening that seems to fit some standard pipe size, but just putting a pipe into that hole doesnt seem to be enough, I think there is a vent hole or something that causes the water to back up into the bowl, and then drain slowly.

1, is it possible (and legal) to convert the floor drain to a sink

2, what fitting do we need to make this work?

Thanks!!!

If there is a trap in the floor you have to bust the floor to remove the trap. Then the drain for the sink needs to be properly plumbed.

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
