I purchased a place a few months ago that now has public water. At one time it had a deep well. I don't think it's been used in over four years. The complete well is still on the property. I took the pump off and pulled the inner water line out. It is about 80 feet deep and water still at the bottom. What do I need to do to get it up and running again? I would like to use it for irragation.

Since you already have things apart, you might test the pump by connecting a garden hose to its inlet to supply some water and turning the pump on to see what happens ... and if it still runs and pumps, then put everything back together and prime the pump and turn it on to see what happens with everythng as it was.

I checked the pump. Pump was above ground, It doesn't work. The one thing that was missing was ther tank. I've never had a well before so didn't want to waste the money on a pump and tank and not know if it's worth it.
