I have carrier whos outside unit breaker trips as soon as it calls for air
With Thermostat not calling for cooling breaks will not trip,
Any ideas what I could check or what could be?

I found a fried mouse across the contactor (relay) in the compressor unit last year on mine. It's guts caused the contactor to stick. One could have chewed through the insulation on the wiring, and could be the source, but it is more likely it is the compressor is shot. Depending on the unit, it might still be under warranty.

its is under warranty but part only
tech on phone said 90% its the compressor
its one of those new puron carrier unit 10 yrs on compressor
thought those new rotary ones are suppose to be so good

Scroll compressors are not new, but more and more manufacturers are using them. They can be more efficient, so that is the impetus. QA/QC may or may not be that great depending on where it actually was made. Some (few anymore) manufacturers make all of their parts, most now buy components from others and assemble them as their own brand, from what I hear. So, depending on the brand, the compressor may not be made by that company.

Could be a bad compressor, burned wire or even a bad or burned circuit breaker. Have had a few CBs that heated up on the busbar and tripped although you couldn't see it unless you removed the breaker. Time to call in a pro.
