Dishwasher Airgap

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if an airgap is required in the Los Angeles, CA area. Thanks for any input.

The California plumbing code requires an air gap. LA has their own heavily modified version of the code, and I don't have it....but I do know that localities can make their code more strict than the state code, but cannot make it less strict. Therefor I will say with some confidence that you are required to use an air gap.
