Does brushed nickel hold up as well as chrome?

I have heard that brushed nickel is "out" because it scratches so easily. Is this accurate? Thanks so much.
 
Real nickel is not that hard. Some of the finishes are not really the stated metal and are applied in a vacuum chamber and can be quite hard - often with a lifetime warranty. So, depends on what you've got.
 
Brushed nickel is great if you like finger prints and water spots...
Satin nickel shows them even worse...

Chrpme and white was in style from when indoor plumbing became common place all the way through til today!
Lots of other colors and finishes have come and gone...
Pink, yellow, blue, avacado just to name a few of the flashes in the pan...:eek:
