We have recently rented a home built in 96'. Yesterday, the bathroom sink (up-stairs and probably farthest from supply) water (both hot and cold) slowed to a trickle and finally stopped giving water all together. The shut-off valves(plastic push on/pull off type) are on. The shower next to the sink works fine. I detected some slight water hammer just before this problem occured, but not too serious.
I've tried shutting off the hot water and opening all faucets, then re-starting hot water. Did'nt help. When I opened the problem faucet, there was a release of air,but not much. HELP!!! I'm perplexed.

Sometimes these "white chunks" on a clogged aerator screen may indicate a water heater dip tube problem... If the white chunks do not dissolve when soaked overnite in vinegar post back!

Thanks, the aerator was clogged (with small light blue chunks, maybe pipe thread compound?). I guess I over-thought the problem. I'm soaking that stuff to see about the dip tube problem . Thanks again for the help, much appreciated!!!!
