Hi all, i have an American Standard Cadet 3 toilet (thanks to this forum) that is only about 6 months old and the float is not floating causing water to keep running. Sound like bad float? thanks

Either a bad float, or it may be rubbing against the side of the tank.

UPDATE..... float is floating but when water level reaches cut off point, water slows down but still trickles endlessly even after reaching overflow level.....

The float may need adjustment, the water level is normally 1/2" below the overflow tube.
Or there may be dirt or grit under the seal preventing a clean shut off.

thanks, there was indeed grit. looks like pieces of rock from our rock well.
