I have a looped under slab hot water circulation system using 3/4 type M copper. It is developing leaks in multiple locations. Breaking out the slab to repair is not an option. Rerouting overhead and in the walls is also very difficult. Has anyone ever tried pulling a smaller diameter pex line inside of a 3/4 inch copper? The system is low pressure (12 psi) and circulates hot water for a baseboard radiant heating system.

aint gonna happen

if you can do that you are a better man that probably anyone on this site....

its virtually impoossible to accomplish that task...

honestly it would probably be more economical to install a forced air heat system with an ac unit than to tearthe living daylights out of an old slab home...

their is a place that actually sand blasts an epoxy coating through the lines and seals the coopper from within...

got a cd from them at a trade show...looks like a pretty good idea..

of course they are trying to sell Franchises....

its all new tecnology and their is probably not a plumber anywhere near you

but its interseting.

The copper tubing is snaked back and forth, and it is not "M" type because "M" only comes in 20' hard lengths. If it is not type "L", then someone cut corners and used refrigeration tubing. But anyway, you might get a very small sized PEX around the first bend, but would never push it though the myriad of other bends under the floor.
