Faucet Drain-P-Trap alignment

I remodeled my bathroom, replaced the cabinet, vanity top, and faucet. I was trying to install the p trap today. But It won't align with the drain in the wall. It's off about an inch. I tried angleing the wall tube but then the nut wont tighten down on it. Drain is 1-1/2, p-trap is brass tubing 1-1/2

Usually, you can get into alignment by virtue of the swivel on the trap. If that does not get you there, you will need to use a 1/16th bend out of the wall to jog over.

1/16th bend for all you non-plumbers out there is a 22 degree fitting or street 22. (technically it's a 22.5 degree but really, who cares.)
