Hi.
I am attempting to troubleshoot a 25-yr old well pump that "just stopped working". I diagnosed with a voltage meter that it had power up to the control box and pressing the reset button produced an audible "buzz"(not loud) for a few seconds, then stopped. Power is making it to the control box but doesn't make it to the pump circuit. I noticed it has a relay and a capacitor(both very old).
My question is, may I safely run "uncontrolled" power to the motor to verify it is not the source of the pump failing to run? Or will this damage something?
The controller is a Coyote and the relay/capacitor box have a Jacuzzi label.
Thanks for any help.
