Onyx on onyx

Hello all, I have an onyx vessel sink and onyx counter top. I am trying to find the best way to secure the two together. Right no my plan is a bead of waterproof clear caulk between the sink and the counter and use the drain to secure it all in place. Anyone have experience installing onyx or can suggest a better method. I knwo i need to be careful about tightening it down to muhc or else it could crack. Thanks in adavance.

You can forget about the drain holding it in place. That is not the drain's function and it will not do it. You have to "cement" the sink to the countertop, or use the standard clamping brackets to fasten the two together.
