I'm told by several plumbers that drain tiles (the underground kind, around the perimeter of a house) cannot be inspected with a camera or snaked because neither cable will go through the T or around the 90 degree small radius bends at the corners of the house.

Is this true and if so, are there specialized cameras/snakes for this purpose and who would be providing that type of service? Apparently not plumbers.

Thanks,
dx

I have camera'd footing drains with some success. If gutter drains tie in chances of success are much higher.

No gutter drains on this one, they would have to go in from the sump pit.

drain

It depends on the elbows at the corners and the tee. If they are "square" drain tile turns then nothing will go around them. If they are rounded sewer tile turns then the camera should make the bend.
