I am installing a jetted tub and a shower in place of a tub shower combination. How do I plumb them so that they both drain properly? Bath on second floor removing floor not a problem as I am replacing 40% of flooring and tiling Thank You Lynn

Your original drain line may be 1.5", the shower needs to be 2". Each needs to be vented separately (you can tie them together at 42" or higher above the floor if you want - in the attic works, too). I don't know if the combination of the two needs ultimately a larger drain than 2" after they combine...one of the pros would know. Each line needs to maintain the 1/4" per foot slope - water doesn't flow uphill.

Absolutely no way to answer without first seeing how your existing drain is installed. But it would be an unusual situation if you could use that one drain for both new fixtures.
