Need Easyboard And Redgard Help

Using easyboard for the first time on a subfloor in a kitchen application.
Do you need to apply redgard to the wood subfloor?
Since the material is not the regular type of backerboard not sure if ok to just apply directly to the floor.

Redgard is (primarily) a waterproofing material...it does have a little antifracture capability, but not much. Nearly all CBU units require they be set in mortar and either screwed or nailed down using the specified fasteners. Normally, if you wanted to provide some waterproofing, you would do it on top of the cbu, not under it. Make sure to use the specified mesh type tape on the seams. You can do this while you tile...you are providing reinforcement, not making it pretty like on drywall. This ties the sheets together, helping prevent them from moving independently which can cause cracks along the edges of the sheets.
