slow kitchen sink

I've noticed that my 16 year old kitchen sink and garbage disposal are running slower than usual. Is there a simple proactive solution to this potential problem? The drain pipe is pvc. Thanks for any help!

Some people will swear that a little baking soda and white vinegar dump in the kitchen drain will keep them clear and clean.

It won't unclog an already clogged drain., but it should keep things flowing better. I have never personally needed to do it, but some of my clients swear by it.
