I started the "simple" process of changing out a leaky kitchen faucet. But I went under it and found a type of C bolt holding the center of the faucet. It just won't come out. If you've ever seen one of these, PLEASE HELP!

There is a nut to the right, that can be unscrewed it looks like.
Maybe I should say near the bowl side.

It looks like a bolt but it's actually a long metal bar that is connected to the faucet but does not move. I changed the picture so it can be seen better.

That long hex shaped piece IS the nut. The plug in the end allowed it to be screwed up with a screwdriver, but you may need a socket on an extension to get enought leverage. Mainly you need a LOT of WD-40!!

Rather than WD-40, get a can of PB Blaster. WD-40 is not a penetration oil and PB Blaster is one of the best penetrating oils there is.

PB blaster and let it work a while...try turning the nut and hit it again with the blaster...as you turn the nut the PB will chase the threads as long as you keep applying it.

That has been rusting a long time so don't expect miracles... although you may get one.
