Insinkerator's air switch not working

I recently bought this house ,boy what fun that was!
My problem is that air switch for the insinkerator seems to be not functioning properly. Everytime I press it, nothing happens but the regular switch would not work until I press the air switch once again. I have replugged everything but nothing seems to work!

Please advise!

I assume your talking about a batch feed disposer.
You need to leave the wall switch on the yous the other switch. I have seen most batchfeeds wired that way.

The switch on the wall is the required disconnect for the disposal motor, leave it in the ON position....

Ise

Use the wall switch or the air switch. Do not use both.

Is the 1/4" black hose from the deck switch to the control box connected?
