All New Inside And It Still Wont Work!!

:mad: Just replaced It all. New Flush valve ,bolts and gasket. New Fill valve. It still doesnt not work. You flush....The bowl fills up. You flush again....only about 2 inches of water goes into the back tank. WHY!!!!?? :confused:

It sounds like an obstruction somewhere in the supply line between the water supply shut-off valve and where the supply line enters the toilet at the refill valve. Try replacing the supply line and, when you do so, make sure nothing is lodged just inside the bottom of your new fill valve.

Your shut off valve could also be worn/faulty and keeping the water from flowing.

so DH takes off the extra chain that was just hanging there(hours later) and now it fills up every time. makes no sence. :confused:

Yes it does because if the chain was long enough it could drop under the sealing surface of the flapper and keep the water flowing through it. But we would not normally think that was the problem because it would take "real" eyes there looking into the tank because it would not be a "normal" problem. That is one reason some problems take the person being there and seeing what is happening before the solution is obvious.
