All of a sudden we get no water from our kitchen sink or dishwasher. Worked last night fine, but when we got up this morning nothing. Bathrooms are fine, getting both hot and cold water. Water dispenser in fridge works too. Washing Machine down in the basement works as well. It has been cold here in St. Louis, MO but seems weird that could have just frozen overnight after being used yesterday. Was told to place a hair dyrer under the kitchen and let it run in case it did freeze up. Been running for about 45 minutes and no luck as of yet. Any ideas or suggestions? Kitchen sink is up against wall closest to backyard. Another thing we've noticed is our hardwood floor is noticably colder directly in fron of the sink than anywhere else in the kitchen.

How low did your temperature go down there, and can you possibly get under the kitchen floor to apply some heat to the pipes coming up to the sink, or do you think they come in from a different direction? Being on an outside wall, freezing *could* be your problem ... but it is also possible something has somehow blocked all flow within your faucet.

working now, guess the lines just froze. it was cold last night, got down around 7 degrees or so. I was able to use the hair dryer down in the basement on the lines and that seemed to thaw the lines pretty quick. growing up in ca wasn't used to stuff like this. thanks for the reply.

Now that you know this is a possibility, you may be able to prevent future freezing if you leave the cabinet doors open under your kitchen sink when you are expecting very cold weather.
