New tile floor is not entirely level around one side of the toilet.
From about 12:30 o clock- at the back of the toilet where it sits on the floor, going counter clockwise to 11, 9, down almost 5 oclock (at the front) the floor is level and in contact with the toilet. The floor is unlevel from about 1 to 5 o clock. Just sitting there the toilet sits on the floor, if you rock it over to the 1 to 5 oclock side it will tip a little.

Any options other than the little stepped plastic shims lowes sells?
Those shims only contact the bowl in a small area as they are on such an angle.
Whats needed is a "more flat" shim, or something to pump under the edge that hardens but does not stick?

HD carries nice composite door shims that are more gradual.
It's what we put in the trucks.

Reach in your pocket and pull

out a penny, nickle , dime and quarter....

they always work great for me....

usually the nickle or quarter seems to work best...

With the rate our currency is going down the
drain anyway,

perhaps useing them for toilet shims
is the best way to get your moneys worth out of them

Coins are cheaper than the plastic wedges too!
You do not need a large contact area you only need it to stop the rocking!

Or you can use some washers if you have any laying around.

Don't use steel ones though... Using them makes rusty spots on the floor.

If the floor is worse, is there a setting material that can be used? Maybe wax the bottom of the toilet first.

i use a dozen or so 1/4" tile spacers set flat on the floor. The give a little so I'm not too worried about cracking the porcelain and they basically self level. when I have tightened the flange bolts I trim off what is sticking out and caulk.
