Another question, the pipe is running in a crawl space and shoots up into my extension. The crawl space is in too well insulated, is it recommended to insulate the copper pipes? My main question really would be is it ok to insulate hot water pipe (my heat is from hot water)

I meant to write my crawl space is NOT well insulated, so i would like to insulate the pipes in the crawl space

If freezing is a concern you may be best protected by running a glycol solution in your system.

You can insulate any pipe you wish to, and if you insulate the hot water heating pipe, it will work a little bit better.
