Putting in a 2nd shallow well, need advice!

I put in a shallow well in my basement about 30 years ago. The well still works fine but I would like to put in a second well because this one is getting older. Does anyone know how far apart these wells should be? Thanks for your help!

Three foot or more should be fine. You just don't want to put the new screen into the mineral that has built up around the old screen.
